Published Tuesday, 14th July 2020

Residents of the Melton Mowbray are being asked to share their views on open spaces within the town.

The consultation will run from 20 July 2020 until 31 August 2020 and will help to shape the new Open Spaces Strategy and Action Plan.

The purpose of the Open Spaces Strategy and Action Plan is to evaluate the quantity and quality of existing Open Spaces and to identify any future provision required. The Action Plan will outline how suggested developments to Open Spaces can be achieved and which existing areas could be improved upon, to maintain and increase the good and outstanding provisions within the town.

Cllr Higgins, Deputy Leader of the Council, said “The Open Spaces Strategy and Action Plan will help inform decision making for the maintenance and possible development of open spaces within the town, such as parks and play areas. This consultation gives residents the opportunity to have their say and help to shape the open spaces right across the town. I look forward to seeing the findings from the consultation”.
