Verges
Responsibility for the management of roadside verges lies with
Leicestershire County Council. However, some grassed areas
adjacent to roads may appear to be roadside verges but are in fact
public open space managed by Melton Borough Council. If you are
unsure about whether an area of grass verge should be maintained by
Melton Borough Council or Leicestershire County Council, please
call Melton Borough Council Customer Services on (01664 502502),
who should be able to advise you.
The parking of vehicles on roadside verges is positively
discouraged because of the damage and loss of amenity which
overrunning can cause.
