Sheltered housing
Sheltered housing provides good comfortable living conditions where tenants live independently within their homes. There are flats and bungalows situated in Melton town and some villages within the Borough.
All of the accommodation is fitted with a Warden Call System linked to our Central Control or in some sites residents will be contacted on a daily basis to check on their well-being (see individual scheme guides for more information). Out of hours emergency cover is provided by the Central Control Alarm service.
Who qualifies...
Supported Housing is available to applicants (60+) or vulnerable people, in receipt of DLA who need support to enable them to live independently. The service is funded and organised through Supporting People (Leicestershire County Council) and a charge is made by them for the service provided.
Supported accommodation
If you are over 60 and have a low support need we have flats and bungalows in the borough which are designated for people over 60 or younger in receipt of DLA with an identified need for support. The service is also funded and organised through Supporting People (Leicestershire County Council) and a charge is made by them for the service provided.
