We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a background in the development and maintenance of housing management systems or has the ability to grow into this role. The role plays a key part within the team to help ensure the smooth running, compliance and professional provision of the housing service.

Purpose of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join the Melton Borough Council Housing Assets Team as their Housing Systems Officer.

You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of our housing system. As we are constantly evolving and improving our service, you will play a key part by leading on projects to enhance and upgrade the system. This will always be with a focus on improving our customer journey.

You will use the data that we manage in the system to help shape our plans for the future.

You will also be responsible for developing and delivering training and guidance for the rest of the team.   

This role reports directly to the Housing Asset Manager and will be part of our wider Housing Team.

 About You

The successful candidate will be driven and motivated with an eye for detail.  You will be a team player but confident to work independently and have a flexible attitude to working under pressure.  We are looking for an individual with a positive outlook and a desire to deliver a quality service to the community we serve. 

You will have a keen interest in, and demonstrable working knowledge of ICT and databases which is essential. You will also need knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, and you will have an excellent working knowledge of excel. Confidence with software and analytical tools would be an advantage.

Ideally, you will be able to produce detailed reports as well as be able to maintain and update electronic information systems in accordance with data protection regulations.

A working knowledge and understanding of housing related matters would be advantageous.
