Contracts and tenders

Overview

The Code of Practice for Local Authorities on Data Transparency, issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government, requires local authorities to publish contract and tender documents.

The information on this page should complement the Open Data £500 spending information.

Contracts Register

The Contracts Register is a record of the contracts we hold with a value of £5,000 or more. Details of the register can be found within our procurement portal, Proactis (you can find a link below).

Tender Opportunities

Details of current tendering opportunities are published on:

  • Proactis
  • Contracts finder - GOV.UK

Higher value contracts (usually those above £189,000 for goods/services and above £4.7m for works) are also published on the government's Find a Tender service.

To access information and tender documents and to submit a bid, you will need to register on Proactis (ProContract). Clicking on the link below to the Proactis homepage will take you to information on how to do this and will also give you details on getting help and support from Proactis if you need it.

Requesting data prior to April 2011

Contract information prior to April 2011 can be requested under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. When requesting information you should be aware that a large proportion of documents were lost in the fire of 30 May 2008, which destroyed the old Council offices at the Nottingham Road site.

Freedom of Information requests can be directed to Customer Services, Melton Borough Council, Parkside, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1GH, or email: customerservices@melton.gov.uk
