Age UK Leiecstershire and Rutland
Age UK help elderly residents within the community. The coronavirus pandemic has changed life for everyone, but some older people are among the hardest hit. Age UK have a helpline dedicated to provide practical and emotional support to those over 70, especially those who are self-isolating and live alone.

Alzhiemer's Society have dedicated coronavirus webpages offering advice and practical tips for people living with dementia and those supporting them – either in the same household or from a distance. They also have a support line for those needed extra advice

Claire's Taxi's are offering a free taxi service to over 65's between 7am and 8am. They are also offering to pick up and deliver perscriptions. They will continue to run their service in line with the new guidance, allowing people to travel only when absolutely necessary.
Community Support Schemes
There are a number of community support and good neighbour schemes in place across Melton.
Good neighbour schemes use local volunteers to help people who need assistance with things like shopping, dog walking, gardening and collecting medication.
Many groups within Melton are now offering support for people who are self-isolating or otherwise affected by coronavirus.
Please note: Whilst Melton Borough Council does not govern the community support schemes, it does fully support its communities coming together to help each other at this unprecedented time. We would, however, still advise that individuals exercise caution when using such schemes and if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the council for advice.
EMH Care & Support - Westbourne House & Myst Lodge
If anyone finds themselves in need of accommodation we will be happy to help where we can.
The route for families is via Melton Borough Council.
Those aged between 16-25 years can present at the office at MYST and we will do what we can.

Latham House - Social Prescribers
Latham House - Social Prescribers are offering telephone support those registered at Latham House or The Vale Medical Group (Long Clawson Surgery, Stackyard Surgery- Croxton Kerrial or Woolsthorpe by Belvoir surgery), who need some emotional, anxiety management telephone support.

The Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 Drivers
They have a number of responders living locally who are happy to help with the collection of medicines and other essentials.
Melton Matters are able to support throughout Melton Borough. They provide support for lonliness as well as collection and delivery service.
Melton Educational Trust
Melton Educational Trust are continuing the free school meal service.
The Royal Air Force Association Branch (Melton Mowbray)
The Melton Mowbray Royal Air Forces Association Branch will be offering support to those, over the phone where possible, to prevent loneliness. The welfare provision is normally only to those members of the RAF Family that are either serving in the RAF or have served including their spouses and any dependants included spouses of former serving personnel. However, we are undertaking telephone calls to all of our members regardless of their service status.
This support to the members of the local branch, even those that live outside of the borough. Although, those that live outside of Melton will be signposted to the relevant agencies.

The Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion will remain fully operational to support our veterans and their families during this difficult time. If you know a veteran who may need our support, please ask them to call the contact centre.

VASL – Community Champions
VASL can provide current information on where to find support. They run a befriending scheme where a local volunteer will make phone contact with a person who lives alone.
