Pay over the phone using our automated payment line. Call 01664 502502 select option 1.

Set up a Direct Debit

You can set up a Direct Debit to pay your Council Tax through My Account by registering for online Council Tax services. 

If you do not already have a My Account you can create an account.

AllPay card

You can pay your Council Tax and rent by using an AllPay card.

To order a card call Customer Services on 01664 502502 and make sure you have either your rent account number or Council Tax account number available.  

There is no charge for using this service. 

The AllPay card will be accepted at all Post Offices and PayPoints located in local shops.  You can find your nearest one by using the My Melton search app.

You can make payments using cash, debit card or cheque.  Payments will normally take a couple of days to reach us so please make sure you pay in good time to avoid us taking recovery action.

We do not accept cash payments.

Right to cancel
For contracts that are not completed face to face at our office you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire 14 days from the day you contact Melton Borough Council and request the service.

To exercise the right to cancel you must inform us of your decision to cancel the contract by letter, fax, or email. You may use our cancellation form which is available on our website and at our main reception, but it is not compulsory.

To meet the cancellation deadline, you must send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation 
If you cancel your contract with us within the cancellation period, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you within 14 days.

If you authorised the service to be commenced within the 14-day cancellation period you will be liable for the cost of work carried out up to the point of cancellation. If the Council is liable for any associated costs incurred then a charge may be levied to cover these.

Please note the right to a refund only applies to the value of contracts over £42 in accordance with the 2013 regulations governing consumer contracts.  

Returns
Should you need to return a defective item or a damaged item then you have the right to return the item for a full refund including postage or a replacement.

If you receive the incorrect item please return it and then we will provide a full refund including postage.
