Volunteer at Melton Country Park

Friends of Melton Country Park are a volunteer group who work alongside and support the council in maintaining and upkeeping Melton Country Park.

The group was formed in 2004 and is made up entirely of volunteers from across the borough. As part of the group, volunteers are able to enjoy the social interaction as well as health and well-being benefits achieved through completing physical activity in a green space.

Most visitors to the park will have seen and benefitted from their work, which includes:

  • Litter picking
  • Tree planting
  • Supporting and protecting local wildlife and habitats within the park
  • Creating new planted areas and flowerbeds in the park
  • Installing a new bird hide by the lake
  • Volunteer work groups
  • Social activities in the park
  • Raising funds to support projects and volunteer group running costs
  • Identify and raise awareness of priorities for improvement and investment
  • Working and engaging with the council and other key stakeholders to improve the area

You can find out more about their work or keep up to date by joining the Friends of Melton Country Park facebook group
