Animal licensing fees

The current fees for the different types of animal licence are as follows:

Animal Welfare Licences  
Hiring of horses - New £232.20 plus vet's inspection fees (billed separately)
Hiring of horses - Renewal 181.80 plus vet's inspection fees (billed separately)
Dog breeding - New £252.10 plus vet's inspection fees (billed separately)
Dog breeding - Renewal £202.80
Selling animals as pets - New £202.80
Selling animals as pets - Renewal £152.40
Boarding for dogs and cats - Large establishment (7 and over) - New £212.30
Boarding for dogs and cats - Small establishment (6 and under) - New £181.60
Boarding for dogs and cats - Large establishment (7 and over) - Renewal £163.20
Boarding for dogs and cats - Small establishment (6 and under) - Renewal £133.60
Dog daycare (non-domestic) - New £182.60
Dog daycare (non-domestic) - Renewal £133.60
Keeping or training of animals for exhibition - New £182.60
Keeping or training of animals for exhibition - Renewal £133.60
Re-rating visits (ALL of the above) (Animal Welfare Act) £181.60

Dangerous wild animal licence - New £295.20 plus vet's inspection fees (billed separately)
Dangerous wild animal licence - Renewal £166.30 plus vet's inspection fees (billed separately)
Zoo licence £423.30 plus Defra inspection fees (billed separately)

Please note hiring of horses requires an interim vet inspection annually which will be billed separately. 

Please be careful to pay the correct fee as over payments will be refunded minus the admin fee of £33.

How to pay

Payment can be made either by cheque payable to Melton Borough Council, or you can use our online payment system, ensuring you click on 'Environmental Health licences' from the pick list.
