Planned repairs are being carried out to our car parks

The Council undertakes condition surveys on regular basis. This forms part of the Council’s work programme for planned maintenance works. The current works were identified last year. The Council has appointed contractors to undertake works in the next 6 to 8 weeks in the following locations:

• Waterfield Leisure Centre car park – Works to ramp to side of building, tarmac repairs and white lining to areas where disturbed
• Mill Street car park – Tarmac repairs and white lining to areas where disturbed
• Saxby Road car park – Tarmac repairs
• Chapel Street car park – Tarmac repairs and white lining to areas where disturbed
• St. Marys car park – Tarmac repairs, white lining where disturbed and repairs to block paving where required
• Algernon Road car park – Investigate drainage and tarmac repairs
• Fernie Avenue car park – Reinstate car park linings
• Burton Street car park – Reset paving to car park entrance

The Council has prioritised the resources to focus on high risk items. If new issues have arisen since the condition surveys undertaken last year, and if they pose health and safety risks, they will be dealt with by the ongoing repair and maintenance works, in addition to the current planned works.
