Taxi licensing policy

We are responsible for the regulation and administration of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire trades licensed by us.

We recognise the important role that Hackney Carriages and Private Hire vehicles play in enabling people to travel safely around the borough.

Our Policy sets out the requirements and standards that must be met. In exercising its discretion in carrying out its regulatory functions; the Council will have regard to this Policy document. However, each application or enforcement action will be considered on its own merits.
