We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, you can find the list of items on the Leicester County Council website along with alternative sites.

Refuse sacks

Communal bins

Some properties in our area are not supplied with individual wheeled bins. They have communal bins used by a group of properties, or dispose of their waste and recycling in sacks.

Please see Bin collection dates.

If you live in a communal area you should use pink sacks to dispose of refuse and brown sacks for recycling.

A yearly supply (two rolls), both pink and brown bags, will be delivered to you during March and April each year. If you need additional sacks, there is a charge of £20 for all replacements. Please call 01664 502 502.

If you do not have communal bins, on collection day, please leave your bags at the front of your property (usually at the point that it meets the highway). Please ensure:

  • the bags are visible and accessible for crews
  • the bags are in position by 7am
  • the bags do not cause an obstruction to the public

You can put the same materials in your brown recycling sacks as those that can be put into the brown bins. Please see Brown bins (recycling).

Please do not overfill sacks, as they can split, making it impossible for the crews to collect them. Please do not place broken or smashed glass into your recycling sack.
