Our estate walks are an opportunity for our teams to identify issues in our neighbourhoods, by walking round the area and chatting to those who live there.
We wanted to let you know what we found at the walks and what we did about it.
Below you can find a list of our previous walks, with details on the issues we identified and the actions we have taken.
Queensway estate walk - 7 May 2025

Barker Crescent
Debris on the road side and pathways - This was reported to Biffa and has been swept.
A grass verge had been damaged and requires levelling - This has been reported to Leicestershire County Council.
Untidy telephone wire cables - This has been reported to Openreach.
One fly tip - This was reported to Biffa and has been cleared.
Seven untidy gardens - Investigations have been raised to Tenancy Services and Safer Communities team.
Blakeney Crescent
Street cleansing of paths required - This was reported to Biffa and cleansing carried out.
Faded street sign - This is going to be reviewed by Tenancy services.
Cars parking on grass verge - Letters issued to residents and issue now resolved.
Possible abandoned vehicle - Investigated by the Safer Communities team and car has been removed.
Unsightly power grid shed - National Grid to review.
One fly tip - This has been reported to Biffa and waste removed.
Three untidy gardens - Investigations have been raised to Tenancy Services and the Safer Communities team.
Brownlow Crescent
Garage site requires clean up of rubbish fly tipped and weeds. Including repairs to some of the doors to make them safe - Reported to Biffa.
Bin damaged, requires replacing - Waste and Environmental services have replaced the bin.
One untidy garden - This has been investigated by the Safer Communities team.
Damage to park fencing, wood to be collected - Reported to Biffa and waste removed.
Play park sign wording to be reviewed and replaced if necessary - Safer Communities team reviewing signage.
Dalby Road
Bus stop damaged including seating - This has been reported to Leicestershire County Council.
Drain blocked up - This has been reported to the Housing Repairs Team.
Hartopp Road
Kerb identified as being damaged and causing a tripping hazard - This was Reported to Leicestershire County Council and the kerb has been repaired.
Self-seeding plant has grown on green area, requires removing - Reported to Waste and Environmental Services.
Two untidy gardens - Investigations concluded.
Repair to guttering and downpipe required - This has been reported to the Housing Repairs Team.
One fly tip - This was Reported to Biffa and waste removed.
Meynell Close
Unsafe structure identified within garden - Tenancy Services to investigate further.
Self-seeding plant requires removal - Reported to Waste and Environmental Services.
One fly tip - Reported to Biffa and waste removed
Tripping hazard on pathway near 12a - Reported to Leicestershire County Council and hazard has been repaired.
One concern for tenant raised - Tenancy Services investigating further.
Two reports of Anti-social behaviour - The Safer Communities team have investigated.
Princess Drive
Reported lorry obstruction - Safer Communities team investigated and Lorry no longer in the area

Reported bad flooding (during the floods) due to the brook behind not being maintained – This has been passed to Waste and Environmental Services to determine who is responsible for maintenance.
South Crescent
Identified Large Tree, shrub, that needs cutting back – Reported to Waste and Environmental Services.
Granby Drive
Three untidy gardens – Investigations raised to Tenancy Services and the Safer Communities team.
Residents parking cars on grass verge – Letters issued to residents by Tenancy services.
Bin collection missed – Identified issue and ordered side waste to be collected.
Street cleansing required - Reported to Waste and Environmental Services.
Tree identified that needs trimming – reported to Waste and Environmental Services.
Request for a driveway due to having a Motability car – Request sent to the Housing Repairs team for advice.
One report of anti-social behaviour – Investigated by Tenancy Services.
Keel Drive
One untidy garden - Investigations raised to Tenancy Services.
Walford Close
Movement of property- Reported to the Housing Repairs team and inspection raised.
Weeds growing in communal walkway – Reported to Waste and Environmental Services.

Town centre estate walk - 16 July 2025

Sherrard street
Member of public reported Drug users hanging around outside Lloyd’s bank and the alley way next to it. He mentioned a lot of the public feel unsafe using the bank because of this – passed to Community Safety to investigate.
Nottingham street
Planter in high street has been damaged – Waste and Environmental Services have replanted it.
Car park of the Kings Head had lots of rubble and building debris in car park, lots of weeds – Community Safety to contact the owner of car park.
Footpath outside car park, post has metal missing and is exposed – reported to Leicestershire County Council.

Emergency help point tested and confirmed it worked.
St Marys way
Path that goes through graveyard and comes out onto King Street needs sweeping, lots of leaves and debris – Passed to Waste Management
Identified new Solar powered lights in the graveyard to combat ongoing ASB in the area.
Chapel street and New street
Parking at Chapel Street is limited, tenants constantly having issues with non-residents parking there. Lines are also very faded. – Research being carried out by Tenant Engagement to see how we can implement resident parking scheme.
New street
One window was smashed at property – Reported to the Housing Repairs Team to make safe.
Rubbish left outside of a void property – Reported to the Housing Repairs Team and Waste Management to get cleared.
Tree hanging over footpath – Reported to Waste and Environmental services to get cut back.
Bentley Street
Rubbish identified along the street – Reported to Waste and environmental services to get a litter pick arranged.
Greenslade
Top floor door frame is very rotten, second floor balcony outside the front door, metal trim is falling off, guttering on the ground floor outside of 1 and 2 has a hole in and is not draining the water correctly – Picture sent over to the Housing Repairs Team.
Under staircase near the communal bins full of rubbish – reported to the Waste Management to get cleared.
