Tenant Garden Competition

Do you spend most of your time in the garden or maybe your neighbour is a dab hand at pruning their Petunias?

We are running a garden competition for our tenants, and we want to showcase the impressive gardening skills throughout the borough. Whether you want to nominate a neighbour or show off your hard work we want to see them all.

The competition is currently open to all Melton Borough Council tenants and Leaseholders and will close on Friday 9 August at 5pm.

After the closing date, a panel of judges will select the winners, who will be announced at the Tenant Summer Fete on Thursday 22 August.

Gardens can be entered or nominated for the following 6 categories:

  • Best Garden – awarded to the most outstanding garden in the borough.
  • Best Young Gardener (0 – 18 yrs) – awarded to the best container garden, potted plant or tallest sunflower grown by a young gardener.
  • Cream of The Crop – Awarded to the best vegetable patch.
  • Most Lavish Lawn – Awarded to the cleanest, greenest lawn.
  • Most Creative Use of Space - awarded to the most creative use of pots, hanging baskets or planters that’s been used to brighten up any space.
  • Most Improved Garden – awarded to a space that has been transformed into a gorgeous garden. Before and after photos of the transformation will be required.

Tenants can enter more than one category.
