Purpose of the job 

The Council is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Health Practitioner or Housing Health Practitioner to join the Environmental Health Team within Regulatory Services. The successful candidate will lead the regulation of standards in all types of rented housing and successfully deliver the regulation of HMO licensing. As a member of a team, you will contribute to the delivery of the Environmental Health functions. 

About you.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving housing standards and the Environment. 

You will provide an excellent quality service to all customers, meet targets and performance standards relevant to the assigned duties in order to achieve high standards of service delivery. 

You will be required to carry out inspections, investigations, advice and appropriate enforcement actions in respect to all relevant housing legislation and undertake other relevant activities in relation to Environmental Health.

You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including maintaining accurate records, drafting reports and dealing with correspondence. 

You must have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
