Purpose of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Melton Borough Council Revenues and Benefits team.

The vacancy is for a part-time Voids and Completion Officer responsible for providing assistance in the demand, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates. This involves the inspection of new and empty properties and those undergoing structural alterations to ensure a correct and complete database for the charging of Council tax and Non-Domestic Rates. Previous experience in a similar role would be preferable but not essential as we will provide full training and support.

About You

Ideally, you will have some previous experience in a Revenues and Benefits team, although this is not essential. You will, however, need to have great ICT skills with experience of using the full Microsoft suite of applications as well as being confident in picking up new, bespoke ICT systems. As a customer focussed service, customer service skills are essential to ensure our team are supporting people in our community who most need our help.
