Council seeks public opinion on Melton Mowbray Town Centre

Melton Borough Council have launched the 2025 Town Centre Perception Survey which is open until 10 October 2025. This annual survey measures the opinions of both residents and visitors regarding the town centre. All recent visitors to the town centre are encouraged to participate in assisting the council gain valuable insights into how the town is perceived and how resources could be allocated.
The Town Centre Perception Survey is backed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which has driven major improvements over the past two years. Over £300,000 has supported local businesses, a dedicated operative now helps maintain green spaces, and survey feedback has directly shaped key initiatives like the Town Centre Design Guide and a new strategy to attract more businesses, jobs and opportunities to the area.
Last year’s survey highlighted areas of improvement including cleanliness, green spaces, signage, and community atmosphere. The council responded by investing £45,000 in new street furniture and increasing support and raising the profile of local volunteer groups.
Participation in the Town Centre survey is simple and accessible. Residents and visitors can complete the survey online or request a paper copy, available from the Parkside Council Offices. Council officers will also be present in various locations across the Town Centre in the coming weeks to encourage public engagement.

-
The Stockyard– Tuesday 7 October 2025
