Nominations Open for the Annual Let’s Get Moving Melton Awards

Lgmmawards2026

The Let’s Get Moving Melton Awards are back for a fourth year, shining a spotlight on the inspiring individuals and groups who are making a difference across the borough, with nominations now officially open.

Organised by Melton Borough Council, the awards celebrate the remarkable achievements of those who have gone above and beyond to improve health, wellbeing and physical activity in their communities. From sporting success and personal triumphs to dedicated volunteers and community champions, the awards recognise the people and organisations helping to make Melton a healthier, more active place to live.

This year introduces a number of brand-new award categories, recognising an even wider range of inspiring achievements across our community. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to sport, physical activity or health and wellbeing, and who deserve recognition for their dedication and achievements.

Once the nomination period closes, an independent panel will review all submissions and create a shortlist of nominees. The shortlist will be published on the Melton Sports and Health Alliance website ahead of the awards ceremony, which will take place at the Banqueting Suite at the Stockyard on Friday 29 January 2027.

Councillor Joe Orson, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Health, and Rural Affairs, said: “The Let’s Get Moving Melton Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the individuals, clubs and organisations that inspire others to lead active, healthy lives.

Every year, we hear inspiring stories of those who have overcome challenges, achieved remarkable goals or gone above and beyond to support the health and wellbeing of others. We know there are many local champions making a real difference in our communities, so if you know someone who deserves recognition, make sure you submit a nomination before Sunday 15 November.”
